Hundreds of exhibits in Jimmy Dimora case released Thursday
Hundreds of exhibits were released Thursday from Jimmy Dimora's 2012 trial in which he was found guilty of running criminal enterprise out of his county office.
The former Cuyahoga County Commissioner had fought to keep the documents sealed.
About 1,200 are set to be released. Those pieces of evidence include surveillance video, letters, recorded phone calls and transcripts of conversations between Dimora and co-conspirators.
Dimora is currently in prison, serving a 28-year sentence for bribery and corruption.
He wrote a letter to a judge, begging to keep the records sealed. He argued that, if released, the evidence could be humiliating to his family.
Still, the judge ruled to release the records.
It has taken three years to get the records released because authorities were waiting for the deadline for Dimora to challenge his conviction to pass.
