This liveblog will feature updates, news and pictures from events happening in Sochi, Russia as they happen. thestar.comFrench magazine reports that Virtue and Moir are going to get silver with the Americans claiming gold in proposed vote swap between Russians and U.S. -
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir finished second in the short dance as Canada moved within a point of Russia for top spot in the team figure skating event at the Sochi Olympics.
Virtue, from London, Ont., and Moir, from Ilderton, Ont., gave Canada nine points in the multi-stage event with a score of 72.98.
Meryl Davis and Charlie White of the United States finished first with 75.98 points while Russians Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitri Soloviev were third with 70.27.
Russia leads the event with 27 points after three events.
Canada has 26 points, and the United States has 20.
The women's short and pairs free skate go later today.

Osmond delivers solid skate, but Russia leads Canada by 5 points in team event
SOCHI, Russia - Kaetlyn Osmond delivered a solid performance in the women's short, but Russia opened up a five-point lead over Canada in the team figure skating event.
Osmond, from Marystown, N.L., skated first and was poised in her Olympic debut, delivering a mistake-free performance that scored 62.54 points.
She finished fifth, giving Canada's team six points.
But Russia's Yulia Lipnitskaya was the skater to beat, giving Russia 10 points with an impressive skate that scored 72.90 from the judges.
Russia has a daunting 37 out of a possible 40 points after four events, with Canada second at 32 and the United States third at 27.
The pairs long program concludes the second day of team competition.
